Last night I began to watch a series called "When Gods People Pray". I found it very interesting and a great reminder of what can happen when we pray and call upon God, our Father. Because that is exactly what he wants from us, to call upon His name and ask Him to help us out in anything and everything that we need. And why shouldnt we? This past Sunday night at Calvary Gospel, we had a prayer meeting and it was amazing to see all of the prayer warriors that are in our church. We began by praying for Renita, who is in the hospital. Calling on God to bring healing to her body. Then the Holy spirit began to move and we began to pray for each other. One of the ladies in the church made a statement. "I dont want to be selfish but I.....". At that moment, someone spoke up and said that that was an orphaned spirit. After thinking this over for awhile, I came to the conclusion that it was very true. We are children of God and He wants us to have an abundant life and to live it to the fullest. And if we have pain and suffering in life we cant have the life that God wants for us. So why shouldnt we ask for it. He tell us to ask for it. In Matthew 7:7-8 it says "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks the door will be opened." And through all of my 20 years in life I have found that God is a loving Father. And for those who are parents, when a child asks for something, reasonable, we give it. Why? Because we love them and want the best for them. The same is true for God, our heavenly Father. He want the best for us and He tell us this in Jeremiah 29:11 ""For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.". So this week I hope and pray that you and I will be able to see that if we need anything, and I mean anything, all we need to do is ask our heavenly Father and He will GLADLY give it to us.
